Programs Available at Monroe Martial Arts:
What We Teach
Each class is divided into three components:
2. Self Defense
3. Personal Development
The class starts out with Yoga to stretch every muscle of the body gently. Next, the aerobic section of the workout where we raise our heart rate to about 70% of the maximum for 20 minutes. We do this by punching, kicking, patterns and combinations of techniques. This increases our cardiovascular endurance and raises our metabolism to burn fat. Next is the anaerobic portion of the workout where we raise our heart rate through our speed drills and by fighting the bag. This increases the lung capacity and is a great stress reliever.
A Modern Approach to Self Defense
At Monroe Martial Arts we combine the best features of various ancient and modern martial arts. We also use Verbal and Mental strategies to protect us against the most common type of assaults.
This is the most important part of our curriculum. We teach people to set goals and achieve them. All great accomplishments in life begin with a dream, a vision. But we have to be more than dreamers. We have to educate ourselves about what it takes to make our dreams a reality. Through the Black Belt Tenets we teach intelligent means to resolve conflict, build character, increase self esteem and create a rewarding lifestyle.
We have the largest group of professional martial arts instructors in the area. Founded on the principles of teaching excellence, personal attention and tradition, we provide you with the most complete and effective methods to reach your full potential. At Monroe Martial Arts, our instructors are personally selected, not only for their martial arts skill, but also for their ability to effectively communicate their knowledge and understanding to students of all ages.
At Monroe Martial Arts we are interested in the complete personal development of each student. Individual attention is the feature of each and every class, allowing the student to progress quickly and easily toward their goals.
